The Domain Hotel and Spa, Bahrain has recently been recognized by Forbes Travel Guide as Bahrain's sleek urban retreat and was chosen as one of the 2019 Star Award winners!
This award was given after a rigorous process. Forbes Travel Guide's inspectors scoured the globe to discover the world's best hotels, restaurants and spas for our 2019 Star Award winners. For the 61st annual list, they expanded to new destinations, including Anguilla, Bahrain, Belize, Danang, Doha, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Istanbul, Oman, Perth, the Swiss Alps, Tel Aviv and Uruguay. The result is the biggest and most diverse group of honorees yet.
To find the top luxury experiences, the inspectors checked into a hotel for a minimum of two nights and posed as ordinary guests. Once there, they tested up to 900 objective, exacting standards that covered everything from whether a staff member greets you curbside within 30 seconds of pulling up in a car to whether housekeeping arranges toiletries on top of high-quality underliners on the counter.
The ratings emphasize graciousness, thoughtfulness and personalized service: 75 percent of a hotel's score is based on its level of service, while 25 percent is determined by the quality of its facilities.
Forbes Travel Guide is the global authority on luxury travel. Their anonymous professional inspectors travel the world to assess hotels, restaurants, and spas based on 900 objective standards. While they inspect both service and facility, their Star Rating system emphasizes quality of service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant, or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
The hotel is listed on the website and the jury describes the hotel as:
With "Stay, Work, Play" as its slogan, you better believe The Domain Hotel and Spa in Bahrain is as chic an urban retreat as its motto implies.
Perfectly perched in Manama's business district, the 36-floor property is a contemporary tower with one of the best panoramic city views. Its prime location puts you only a few minutes from cultural sites such as Bab Al Bahrain (The Door of Bahrain), Arad Fort and the buzzing seaports of Muharraq, as well as modern must-visits like the luxury shopping complex Moda Mall.
But the vibrant hotel is its own attraction. Just step into the checkerboard-tiled16th-floor lobby to take in an incredible array of artwork, most painted by local and Saudi creatives. Every level, brasserie and corridor is conceptualized with art-deco elements, bold accents and designated design pieces that set each space apart.
The team of the hotel is indeed humbled by this recognition and is inspired to even achieve even more!
